The Security Service of Ukraine successfully conducted a special operation that resulted in the neutralization of agents responsible for the murder of a SBU colonel in the capital.
The operation was personally coordinated by the head of the SBU, General-Lieutenant Vasyl Maliuk.
“The FSB group was previously directed to Ukraine and just days ago committed the murder of our comrade, Colonel Ivan Voronych. After thorough intelligence gathering, we managed to locate them. During their capture, the criminals resisted, and they were eliminated. Remember, the only perspective for the enemy on our land is annihilation!” emphasized Vasyl Maliuk.
The head of the SBU also expressed gratitude to the National Police of Ukraine for their assistance and professionalism.
He highlighted the importance of combating Russian intelligence services, noting that the SBU prevents 85% of crimes planned on Ukrainian territory.
According to the investigation, the crime was committed by a man and a woman. Their handler tasked them with monitoring the colonel, studying his daily routine and movement routes. Subsequently, they received coordinates for a location where a silenced pistol was stored.
After killing the colonel, the assassins attempted to go into hiding. However, SBU and National Police located them in the Kyiv region. Early this morning, a special operation was conducted, during which the FSB group resisted and was neutralized.
Recall that on July 10, agents of the Russian special services killed a SBU officer in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. A criminal case was opened in accordance with Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer).
The operations were carried out under the supervision of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
