Law enforcement officials have identified and apprehended two individuals working for Russian intelligence services following the explosion of a prosecutor's vehicle in Dnipro on June 6.

According to information from the Security Service of Ukraine, the Prosecutor General's Office, and the National Police, the suspects are men aged 30 and 50, recruited through Telegram channels offering "easy money".

Initially, they monitored the route of their target before placing a homemade explosive device near the prosecutor's car in one of Dnipro's districts.

Subsequently, they activated the bomb and set up a remote surveillance device. The driver heard a suspicious sound and managed to escape the vehicle in time.

During the investigation, law enforcement found a mobile phone used to remotely control the explosion.

It has been established that "they are implicated in the explosion of a homemade device under the car of a prosecutor. As a result of this crime, the prosecutor sustained minor injuries, and his vehicle was completely destroyed".

Medical personnel confirmed that the prosecutor's life is not in danger.

To solve the case, surveillance cameras were reviewed, and the route of the perpetrators was traced.

Currently, both detainees are cooperating with the investigation and providing testimonies. They have been charged under part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - a terrorist act committed by a group of individuals.

The detainees face imprisonment of up to 12 years.
