In Memory of Maxim Kovtun: A Heroic Actor

Remembering actor Maxim Kovtun, who lost his life defending Ukraine.

Maxim Kovtun, an actor from the Dnipro Ukrainian Youth Theater, died while defending his homeland.

This was announced on May 2 by the Youth Theater.

“Maxim went to the front to protect our country, our freedom, and our future. He sacrificed the most precious thing – his life – for the peaceful skies above us.

The entire theater team, colleagues, and friends express their heartfelt condolences to Maxim's family, his loved ones, and everyone who was close to him in life,” – emphasized the theater team.

Maxim participated in various productions for both children and adults, including the play “Gamblers” based on Gogol, and he played the lead role of Aesop in the namesake production, along with more than ten puppet and play performances for children.

Maxim Kovtun volunteered to go to the front.

“His roles were vibrant, sincere, and filled with warmth – they will forever remain in our hearts. He brought joy, laughter, and deep emotions to both children and adults,” – added the youth theater representatives.

He is survived by a wife and a young daughter.
