Cherkasy has been hit by a drone attack, causing damage to a gas supply facility. Authorities are urging residents of the city and nearby areas to promptly turn off gas appliances.

This was reported by the city mayor Anatoliy Bondarenko along with the head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration, Igor Taburets.

“The drone assault lasted a considerable time, and we have already noted damage to the infrastructure,” Bondarenko stated.

“Due to emergency work on one of the gas facilities, I urge all consumers to immediately turn off gas appliances and refrain from using gas in their homes,” the mayor appealed.

He promised to provide more detailed information throughout the day.

According to the Cherkasy Regional State Administration, enterprises and organizations in Cherkasy, Khutory, Slobidka, Verhunivka, Nechayivka, Heronimivka, Khatsky, and Russkaya Polyana are requested to cease gas consumption.

“Due to urgent repair work, we ask local residents to stop using gas, closing the valves on boilers and gas stoves,” emphasized Igor Taburets, the head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration.
