Continuation of Martial Law and Mobilization in Ukraine
As of Tuesday morning, April 15, both documents have been forwarded for review to the National Security, Defense, and Intelligence Committee of the Parliament. In the texts of the proposed bills, the President suggests approving the respective decrees to extend martial law and mobilization for a period of 90 days.
According to the bill regarding the continuation of general mobilization (likely No. 13173), this law is set to come into force on May 9, 2025, after being announced through the media.
The bill on the extension of martial law (likely No. 13172) is expected to take effect “from the day of its publication” after being approved by the Parliament and signed by the President.
What is known about the extension of mobilization and martial law in Ukraine
On February 5, the President of Ukraine signed laws extending mobilization and martial law until May 9, 2025.
On November 6, Zelensky signed laws extending mobilization and martial law until February 7, 2025.
Previously, the Parliament approved a law confirming the President's decree to extend martial law in Ukraine for 90 days starting from November 10.
