Germany has announced the formation of a new coalition to support Ukraine under the "Ramstein" initiative.

According to "European Truth", this is stated in a press release from the German ministry.

The ministry highlighted that a new coalition named "Electronic Warfare" (EW) has been created, complementing the existing eight coalitions.

This initiative was established by Germany and ten partners to strengthen Ukraine's capabilities in the following areas:

  • establishing independent communication,
  • intelligence and disruption of enemy communications,
  • protection against drones,
  • enhancing the effectiveness of own weapon systems.

The knowledge gained will also be considered in the future development of the Bundeswehr's capabilities.

"Electronic warfare means are essential for effectively protecting the lives, infrastructure, and equipment of soldiers, as well as civilians. Control over the electromagnetic spectrum is crucial for effective combat in modern warfare, especially regarding the use of drones and defense against them," the German Ministry of Defense stated.

It is worth noting that the meeting of the Contact Group for Ukraine's defense under the "Ramstein" format will take place in Brussels on April 11, chaired by the United Kingdom and Germany.

The previous meeting, the first after the change of the U.S. administration, also occurred in Brussels on February 12 and was led by the United Kingdom.

At that "Ramstein", U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced that restoring Ukraine's borders to their pre-2014 status is not a realistic goal and stated that the U.S. does not view Ukraine's NATO membership as a possible outcome of peace negotiations.

Past "Ramstein" meetings during Joe Biden's administration were chaired by the U.S.
