Ukraine's air defense forces have been actively countering threats from the sky. According to reports from the Air Forces of Ukraine, 116 drones were neutralized during the recent attacks that began on the evening of February 8. The aggressors launched 11 ballistic missiles of the "Iskander-M" type from the Bryansk region and 149 drones of various types, including Shahed, from directions such as Kursk, Oryol, Bryansk, and occupied Donetsk.
Starting from 5:30 PM on Sunday, February 8, Ukrainian defense forces deployed all available resources including aviation, anti-aircraft units, and electronic warfare systems to counter the threat.
As of 9:30 AM on February 9, reports confirmed that 116 drones were shot down or neutralized, and some missiles were also intercepted.
The attack was accompanied by numerous instances of debris falling across Ukraine, particularly at 15 locations. As a result, an air alert was declared in Kyiv and other regions on the evening of February 8 due to the threat of ballistic missile strikes.
