The air defense of Ukraine has successfully neutralized 80 drones launched by the Russian military targeting our country since last evening. There have been confirmed hits from a ballistic missile and 25 attack drones. This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.
According to military sources, from 18:00 on Thursday, January 29, Russian aggressors employed the Iskander-M ballistic missile and 111 drones of various types, including Shahed, «Herbera» and «Italmas».
The missile was launched from the Voronezh region of Russia, while the drones were deployed from the directions of Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsk-Akhtarsk, and also from the temporarily occupied Donetsk.
Approximately 70 of the targets were identified as Shahed kamikaze drones.
The air attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 08:00 on Friday, the air defense managed to shoot down/jam 80 hostile drones.
Confirmed hits from the ballistic missile and 25 attack drones were noted at 15 locations, with debris from downed drones at two more.
The Air Force stresses that the attack is ongoing. Several more Russian drones have been detected in the sky above Ukraine. Citizens are urged to follow safety protocols.
During the night of January 30, Russian forces attacked with drones in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
