On the night of January 19th to 20th, Kyiv was targeted in an attack by Russia, resulting in power and water supply disruptions. This was reported by Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the Kyiv City State Administration.
Klitschko noted that there was one injury in the Dnipro district, with medical teams dispatched to the scene.
Subsequent reports indicated strikes on non-residential buildings, and drones fell in open areas, igniting vehicles.
The left bank of the capital is experiencing power and water supply issues, with social infrastructure facilities shifted to autonomous power sources.

The primary focus of the attack was the left bank of Kyiv, with damage recorded in three districts:

  • In the Dnipro district, the blast wave damaged a high-rise building, injuring a 59-year-old resident. Debris affected around 20 vehicles.
  • In the Darnytsia district, windows and fences of a private house were damaged.
  • In the Desnyansky district, drone debris fell on cemetery grounds.

Following the attack on Kyiv, over 5,600 high-rise buildings were left without heating, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
«After this attack on the capital, 5,635 high-rise buildings are without heat. Almost 80% of these had their heating restored on January 9th,» Klitschko clarified.
He reminded that after the January 9th strike, 6,000 buildings were without heating, with 16 of them still lacking heat as of yesterday.
In Kyiv, due to the complicated energy situation caused by the shelling, there have been changes in metro train operations.
Train operations on the red line begin between the stations “Akademmistechko” and “Arsenalna”, with an interval of 4:30-5:00 minutes.
To transport passengers from the left to the right bank after the alert ends, two trains will run between the stations “Livoberezhna” and “Arsenalna”, depending on the current electricity supply situation. The estimated interval is about 20-25 minutes.
Trains will pass by the stations “Hydropark” and “Dnipro” without stopping.
Train operations on the green line during air alerts will commence between the stations “Syrets” and “Vydubychi” (interval of about 07:00 minutes), and between “Osokorky” and “Chervony Khutir” (interval of 10:00 minutes).
Train operations on the blue line remain unchanged.
