Night Drone Assault: New Challenges for Ukraine

Air defense operations in Ukraine: summary of the night drone attack.

On the night of December 24 (starting from 7 PM on December 23), Ukraine faced an assault from Russia involving 116 strike drones of the Shahed type, Gerbera, and other models. Air defense forces managed to neutralize 60 of them.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The drones were launched from directions including: Millerovo, Kursk, Shatalovo, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Crimea, with around 90 of them being "Shaheds".

"A significant number of strike drones were directed at critical infrastructure facilities in the Chernihiv region," the Air Force noted.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's defense forces.

"According to preliminary data as of 8:30 AM, air defense has shot down/neutralized 60 enemy drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types in the north, south, and east of the country. Hits were recorded from 48 strike drones across 19 locations," the report stated.

The Air Force indicated that Russia continues its drone attacks and urged the public to adhere to safety regulations.
