The air defense forces successfully neutralized 139 drones, including Shahed and Gerbera types, out of 176 used by Russia in its attack on Ukraine on the evening of November 15. This was reported by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on their Facebook page.
“On the night of November 16 (from 18:00 on November 15), the enemy launched one Iskander-M ballistic missile from the Rostov region – RF, and 176 strike UAVs of Shahed, Gerbera, and other types from directions: Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsk-Akhtarsk – RF, and Chauda - TOT AR Crimea, with about 100 of them being ‘Shaheds’,” the message states.
The air attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, UAVs, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 09:00, preliminary data indicates that the air defense has shot down or suppressed 139 enemy UAVs of Shahed, Gerbera, and other types in the northern, southern, and eastern parts of the country.
It was noted that 37 strike UAVs were hit at 14 locations, with debris from shot down drones found at two sites.
The Air Forces emphasized that the attack is ongoing, with new groups of enemy UAVs in the airspace.
