In the city of Pokrovsk, Ukrainian forces have successfully neutralized a Russian sabotage group that recently infiltrated the area.
During their advance, the occupiers committed violations of international humanitarian law by killing several civilians near the railway station.
This information was reported by the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Upon discovering the enemy group, a joint strike and search team of the Defense Forces engaged in combat and eliminated the saboteurs who were hiding in the station building.
According to the 7th Corps of the Air Assault Forces, the defense of Pokrovsk has been reinforced with additional personnel and resources.
Ukrainian troops are conducting constant monitoring of potential infiltration points, patrolling the city, and inspecting suspicious buildings.
In the last two days, Defense Forces units have eliminated 14 Russian soldiers who managed to enter Pokrovsk. Meanwhile, the command urges local residents to refrain from moving around the city without urgent need.
The situation in the area of responsibility of the 7th Corps of the Air Assault Forces remains tense: the enemy is attempting to expand the "gray zone" around Pokrovsk and break into the city from several directions.
Military reports indicate that the enemy has significantly increased the number of guided bomb strikes (KABs) on the Pokrovsk agglomeration.
On October 12 alone, 76 bombs were dropped on the region, and from October 13 to 19, a total of 372 bombs were dropped, nearly double the figures from the previous week.
