Europe Must Step Up Support for Ukraine

Francois Bayrou calls on European nations to take over American support for Ukraine and rethink their role in aiding.

Francois Bayrou, the Prime Minister of France, believes that European countries need to take the lead in providing assistance to Ukraine as American support dwindles.

Source: These remarks were made during Bayrou's speech to French lawmakers on Tuesday, as reported by Le Monde and "European Truth"

Details: Bayrou emphasized that France and other European nations should unite their efforts to fill the gap left by the reduction of American military aid to Ukraine, a decision made by the Trump administration.

He noted that American aid deliveries are "coming to an end, as entire convoys that were prepared for Ukraine have been halted and failed to reach their destination," the French Prime Minister stated.

He mentioned that Ukraine urgently needs ammunition, "certain intelligence systems," and access to "communication networks."

"This will force us to rethink our model, our priorities, and to view the world differently; a world that we thought we knew, but which has proven to be more dangerous than we imagined, with threats arising from those we considered our allies," Bayrou stated.

It is worth noting that, according to media reports, Trump's decision to freeze aid to Ukraine was allegedly supported by all of his top advisors, and he made this choice following the Ukrainian president's statement that the war could drag on.

Meanwhile, CNN claims that the United States continues to provide Ukraine with intelligence data despite Trump’s decision to halt military assistance to Kyiv.
