As a result of a Russian attack in Poltava, significant damage occurred to energy facilities in the Kremenchuk district, reported the head of the regional military administration, Volodymyr Kogut.
This incident resulted from falling debris and direct hits, leaving 16,578 residential and 800 business consumers without electricity.
Emergency blackout schedules have been implemented across the region, and energy workers are currently working to restore power supply.
The Ministry of Energy stated that on the night of October 10, Russian forces launched a massive strike against Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Emergency blackout schedules have also been introduced in Sumy.
In recent weeks, Russian military forces have intensified shelling of Ukrainian energy and gas facilities that supply gas to the population during the heating season.
They regularly attack Ukrainian regions using various types of weapons, including strike drones, missiles, and multiple rocket launchers.
Russian leadership denies that their army is deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure, killing civilians and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy facilities, and water supply systems.
Ukrainian authorities and international organizations classify these strikes as war crimes and emphasize their targeted nature.
