Since 8:00 PM on Friday, September 19, Russian forces launched a combined strike on Ukraine using attack drones and various missile types.
Electronic warfare units of the Air Forces detected and tracked 619 air attack vehicles:
- 579 Shahed-type attack drones and imitators from the directions of Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk;
- 8 "Iskander-M/KN-23" ballistic missiles from Yeisk (RF) and temporarily occupied Crimea;

The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's defense forces.
During the attack, the Russians employed their traditional tactic – simultaneous strikes on designated targets with a large number of missiles and drones of various types.
During the air attack on cruise missiles, tactical aviation, particularly F-16 fighters, effectively responded. Western weapons have once again proven their effectiveness on the battlefield.
The Air Forces thanked partners for the support already provided and expressed hope for further strengthening Ukraine in the airspace, both with ground air defense systems and aviation components.
