As part of repatriation efforts, Ukraine has received 1000 remains that, according to the Russian side, belong to Ukrainian servicemen.

This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War via Telegram.

In the coming days, law enforcement agencies will collaborate with MIA experts to conduct necessary investigations and identify the repatriated remains.

The successful repatriation was made possible through the joint efforts of the Coordination Headquarters, Joint Center at the Security Service of Ukraine, Armed Forces of Ukraine, MIA, the Office of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights, and other security and defense structures.

The Coordination Headquarters expressed gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their assistance.

Special thanks were given to the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who facilitate the transfer of repatriated fallen heroes to designated state specialized institutions and organize the handover of the deceased to law enforcement and forensic experts.

Law enforcement agencies, together with MIA experts, will quickly establish the identities of the deceased.
