The Ukrainian air defense forces successfully neutralized 136 out of 172 drones used in an attack on Ukraine on the evening of September 16.
This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via their Telegram channel.
Beginning at 6 PM on September 16, the invaders launched an attack using a ballistic missile "Iskander-M/KN-23" and guided missiles S-300 from the Rostov and Kursk regions, deploying 172 strike UAVs, including Shahed, "Gerbera," and other types from various directions: Kursk, Bryansk, Orel, Milleryovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), and Chavda (temporarily occupied Crimea). Over 100 of them were Shahed drones.
The air attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 9:30 AM on September 17, preliminary data indicates that the air defense system shot down 136 drones of the Shahed, "Gerbera," and other types in the north, south, and east of the country.
