Due to an emergency situation, several trains passing through Boyarka in the Kyiv region will temporarily alter their routes.
This information was shared by Ukrzaliznytsia on their social media channels.
"Due to infrastructure damage near Kyiv, a number of trains passing through Boyarka station will operate on modified routes," the statement reads.
The company emphasized that they are primarily concerned with the safety of passengers and train crews.
"Further information regarding schedule changes will be provided later," they added.
Shortly after, railway officials clarified that trains heading towards Koziatyn and Berdychiv would travel via Korosten, while those on the Fastiv route would detour through Myronivka and Tripillia-Dniprovsk.
"Yes, train No. 23 Kyiv - Chelm is already running on a modified route through Korosten with a delay, and we will expedite its journey to minimize the delay. Passengers from Berdychiv will be picked up by our train 31 with a subsequent transfer," the company reported.
Additionally, train No. 139 Kyiv - Kamianets-Podilskyi, No. 141/143 Sumy, Chernihiv - Rakhiv, and No. 21/103 Kramatorsk, Kharkiv - Lviv will also be rerouted.
Meanwhile, Mykola Kalashnyk, the head of the Kyiv OVA, informed: "The explosions heard by residents of the region are not related to an enemy air attack." He emphasized that no enemy aerial targets were recorded in the area, and an air alert was not declared.
"Emergency services are currently on-site. All necessary actions are being taken. More detailed information will be provided later," Kalashnyk noted.
Earlier, social media reported strong explosions in the Kyiv region.
As previously reported, in July, Ukrzaliznytsia adjusted the schedules of several passenger trains due to stormy weather conditions in Transcarpathia, as well as in Slovakia and Hungary.
