There has been a rise in incidents of remote landmining on the streets of Kherson by occupying forces using anti-personnel mines. On the night of September 8, the enemy planted "petals" in part of the Dnipro district of the city.
This was reported by the Kherson Regional Police.
According to law enforcement: "Throughout the night, the enemy mined residential areas. Currently, 'petal' mines have been discovered at the intersection of Independence Avenue and Perekopskaya Street, as well as on Universitetskaya Street near Ivan Mozgovoy Square and the intersection with Subot Street. Another mining incident was recorded on Ukrainian Street between Kremenchugskaya and Ladichuk streets."
Police also reminded that on September 5 and 6, "petals" (PFM-1 and PFM-1S) were detected in the residential quarters of the Dnipro district.
"PFM-1S mines are equipped with self-destruct devices, so they can detonate at any moment even without contact," noted law enforcement.
They urged residents to be extremely cautious while moving around.
"It is important to remember that these mines are hard to notice, especially now when the streets are covered with fallen leaves. Adhering to safety rules and being careful can help prevent tragedy. Do not risk your life and watch your step carefully," emphasized the police.
