The Ukrainian military has confirmed that the Ryazan oil refinery in Russia was hit, along with several other key installations.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
During the night of September 5, units of unmanned systems and special operations forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in coordination with other defense components, targeted the Ryazan refinery.
Initial reports indicate a strike on the primary oil processing unit ELOU-AVT-6, which has an estimated capacity of 6 million tons of oil per year.
"The Ryazan refinery, with a design capacity of 17.1 million tons of oil annually, is one of the largest oil refineries in the Russian Federation. It produces various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel, liquefied gases, and other oil products. This facility supports the Russian occupying army," the General Staff commented.
Additionally, special operations units inflicted damage on the positions of two S-400 “Triumph” air defense battalions in the Kaluga region of Russia. Preliminary data suggests hits on command and control vehicles.
Moreover, the Security Service of Ukraine successfully targeted a stockpile of engineering munitions and drones belonging to Russian troops in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region. A secondary detonation and subsequent fire occurred at the site.
