The number of injuries from a missile strike by Russian forces on a humanitarian demining mission operating in the Chernihiv region has risen to eight.
This was reported by the Danish Refugee Council in a statement on their Facebook page, according to Ukrinform.

“As a result of the attack, two of our colleagues were killed, and eight were injured,” the statement reads.

The statement emphasizes that the top priority of the mission is to provide urgent medical assistance to the injured and support the families of the deceased.

It notes that at the time of the incident, DRC teams were conducting solely civilian humanitarian activities — working on demining the area to restore safe access to essential infrastructure, agricultural land, and residential buildings.

“This strike on a civilian humanitarian operation constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law. Humanitarian workers and the people they assist must never be targeted while performing their vital work. We urge all parties to respect and adhere to international law and ensure the safety and protection of humanitarian organization staff and their operations at all times. DRC remains committed to its mission of protecting those affected by war and forced displacement in Ukraine,” the statement says.

On September 4, Russian troops deliberately struck the humanitarian mission of the “Danish Refugee Council” operating in the Kyselivka community near Chernihiv. Earlier, two deaths and five injuries were reported.

The Center for Counteracting Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council refuted the fake news spread by the Russian Ministry of Defense, claiming that the Iskander strike destroyed equipment and units of Ukrainian troops preparing to launch strike drones in Chernihiv region.
