Direct quote from the president: "In Kyiv, a rescue operation is underway at a residential building following the Russian strike... Unfortunately, we already know of eight fatalities, including one child."

Details: The president noted that there may still be people trapped under the rubble.

According to KMVA, as of 08:30, the number of injured from the Russian attack on Kyiv has risen to 45.

"Today's Russian missiles and drones are a clear response to everyone who has called for peace and dialogue over the past weeks. Russia chooses aggression over negotiations. It continues killing instead of ending the war. This indicates that Russia fears no consequences. It exploits the fact that part of the world turns a blind eye to the deaths of children and seeks excuses for Putin," emphasized Zelensky.

He also stated that Ukraine expects a reaction from China regarding the situation, as the PRC has repeatedly called for peace.

"This is not happening because of Russia. We await Hungary's response. The death of children should evoke greater emotions than anything else. We expect a reaction from everyone in the world who has called for peace but now remains silent," concluded the president.

He urged the world to impose new stringent sanctions against Russia for its actions.

"All deadlines have already been missed, and numerous diplomatic opportunities have been squandered. Russia must feel accountability for every strike, for every day of this war," Zelensky summarized.
