A significant fire broke out in Mukachevo due to a missile strike from the Russian Federation.

This was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Transcarpathian region on Facebook.

"Firefighters managed to contain a large blaze covering an area of 7,000 square meters, caused by a missile attack in Mukachevo," the statement reads.

In total, 96 rescuers and 20 units of equipment are involved in addressing the aftermath of the enemy strike, including a fire train from Ukrzaliznytsia.

As reported, on August 21 at approximately 4:40 a.m., Russian forces launched a missile attack on an enterprise in Mukachevo, resulting in a fire. According to the prosecutor's office, two Kalibr missiles were used. Efforts to mitigate the consequences of the attack are ongoing.

Officials have urged residents of Mukachevo and Uzhhorod districts to close their windows and refrain from going outside unless necessary, as harmful combustion products are in the air.

Currently, it is known that 19 individuals have been injured as a result of the missile strike.
