Firefighters Battle Blaze in Mukachevo Following Attack

Details on the significant fire in Mukachevo caused by a Russian attack and the efforts of firefighters.

In Mukachevo, firefighters have been battling a large blaze that erupted following an attack on August 21. As a result of the incident, 21 individuals have been injured.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, as of 07:40, efforts to extinguish the fire in Mukachevo are ongoing.

“A total of 54 firefighters and 15 units of equipment are involved in the operation. Additionally, 2 fire trains from Ukrainian Railways are also engaged,” the service reported.

Emergency service personnel confirmed that 21 people were harmed as a result of the event.

Attack on Mukachevo

It is important to note that on August 21, Russian forces struck Mukachevo in the Transcarpathian region.

Among the affected facilities is the Flextronics plant, owned by the American company Flex International, a global leader in electronics contract manufacturing.

The Information Countermeasures Center stated that there is no military rationale behind these attacks; they are merely attempts to intimidate the population and prolong the war.

As of the evening of August 21, the number of injured due to the attack on the Flex plant in Mukachevo had risen to 23.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban commented on the Russian missile attack on Mukachevo, but notably failed to condemn the fact that it was indeed a Russian assault.
