In the night of August 14th, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' drone systems, in coordination with other components of Ukraine's Defense Forces, launched a strike on the Volgograd Oil Refinery, which supplies petroleum products to the Russian army.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

The strikes from the drones caused significant fires at the refinery.

The detailed consequences of the attack are still being clarified.

The General Staff emphasized that the Volgograd Oil Refinery is the largest producer of fuel and lubricants in the Southern Federal District of Russia, processing over 15 million tons of oil annually, accounting for 5.6% of the total Russian refining output. The refinery produces diesel, gasoline, and aviation fuel, which are critical for the logistics of the Russian Armed Forces.

“We are consistently working to reduce the production capacities of petroleum products in the aggressor country and weaken its army. Russia must fully feel the consequences of its aggressive policies and stop the war against Ukraine,” the General Staff stated.
