Drone Attack on Bus in Kherson

On the morning of August 9, a drone attacked a shuttle bus in Kherson, resulting in injuries and fatalities.

On the morning of August 9, a drone from Russian forces targeted a shuttle bus in the outskirts of Kherson. 

This was reported by the Kherson City Military Administration on their Facebook page, as conveyed by Ukrinform.

"Around 8:00 AM, the enemy struck the shuttle bus. A 66-year-old woman suffered serious injuries, including a concussion and closed head injury, as well as a broken collarbone and shrapnel wounds," the administration's statement said.

The injured woman was urgently hospitalized in critical condition.

The Kherson Regional Military Administration reports six injuries.

"At approximately 08:00 near Kherson, Russian forces attacked a shuttle bus. Currently, six people are known to have been affected, including two women aged 66 and 75, and four men aged 23, 69, 83, and 61," the administration's statement continued.

It was noted that the injured sustained blast injuries and concussions. At least two of the injured are in critical condition.

The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office confirms the information regarding two fatalities.

"According to preliminary investigations, on August 9, 2025, around 08:30 AM, Russian military personnel executed a drone strike on a shuttle bus traveling in the outskirts of Kherson," the statement indicated.

As a result of the attack, two civilians lost their lives, and six others sustained injuries of varying severity. Further information is being clarified.

All of the injured were inside the shuttle bus during the attack.

Under the procedural guidance of the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated regarding the war crime that led to the loss of life (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

As reported by Ukrinform, Russian military forces killed one resident of Kherson region and injured three others in the past day.
