The Esman community in the Sumy region came under artillery fire from Russian forces, resulting in injuries to a 66-year-old woman.

This was reported by the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleg Grygorov, via Telegram.

"This morning, enemy troops shelled the village near the border. As a result of the shelling, a woman was injured," he stated in his post.

According to reports, the woman sustained shrapnel injuries and is currently hospitalized, receiving necessary medical assistance. Her condition is assessed as moderate.

It was also reported that on August 1, there were 85 shellings recorded in the Sumy region across 41 populated localities. Residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure have been damaged in several communities.
