As of the night of July 31, the number of fatalities from the attack on Kyiv has risen to 28, including 3 children. Additionally, 159 people have been injured, 16 of whom are children.
This information was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and spokesperson for the State Emergency Service, Oleksandr Khorunzhyi, during a news marathon, along with Kyiv's Military Administration chief, Tymur Tkachenk.
"Throughout the night and in the morning, rescuers recovered 10 bodies from the rubble of a residential building in the Sviatoshyn district, including a 2-year-old child."
At 8:00 AM, Khorunzhyi reported that another deceased person was found under the debris.
"The death toll has now reached 27. Just received information that rescuers pulled another person from the ruins in the Sviatoshyn district," Khorunzhyi stated.
At 8:34 AM, Tymur Tkachenk announced that the number of victims had increased to 28.
Khorunzhyi also predicts that the death toll from this Russian strike may continue to rise.
The search and rescue operation is ongoing. Currently, rescuers have dismantled 70% of the destroyed structure of the building.
