The operational-strategic grouping of troops “Hortic” has denied reports of a complete takeover of Chasiv Yar by Russian forces.
This information was shared via the official “Hortic” Telegram channel.
“Over three days — July 27, 28, and 29 — the enemy, risking their lives for promised short leaves, conducted demonstration actions in different locations within Chasiv Yar. According to our sources, this type of incentive — short leave — is offered to Russian soldiers for participating in such “operations,” the report states.
Specifically, Russian invaders placed their flags near a fireproof plant, which has not been under Ukrainian control for a considerable period, as well as in the temporarily enemy-controlled territory of the North district.
Before raising the flag in the Shevchenko area, the Russians shelled the positions of Defense Forces. Such actions were filmed and likely serve as part of internal propaganda.
On July 30, from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM, Russian troops attempted to storm the positions of the Defense Forces with two groups of six soldiers.
During the day, to support their assault, the invaders deployed two armored combat vehicles.
"The attempt was unsuccessful — the assault group, which included at least three women, was halted on the eastern outskirts of Chasiv Yar, in the North area,” noted the OSUV “Hortic.”
Both combat vehicles were destroyed, and personnel attempting to hide in nearby buildings suffered significant losses.
The OSUV “Hortic” asserts that despite Russian information manipulation, Chasiv Yar remains under the control of the 11th Army Corps, specifically the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel, which continues to hold the city despite constant enemy attempts to advance.
