On the evening of July 28, Russian forces launched new strikes against Ukraine, deploying 2 ballistic missiles of the "Iskander-M" type and 37 strike drones of the Shahed type, along with imitator drones. 32 of these drones were neutralized, but there were also impacts.
This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.
According to their statement: "As of 9:00, our air defense forces have shot down or suppressed 32 enemy Shahed-type drones (other types of UAVs) in the northern and eastern regions of the country.
There were confirmed impacts from 5 drones and 2 missiles in 3 different locations, with debris from the downed objects falling in 2 locations."
The invaders launched missiles from the Rostov region of Russia and the temporarily occupied Crimea, while the drones were launched from the directions of the Russian cities of Oryol and Kursk, as well as from Hvardiske in Crimea.
The aerial assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
