Tragedy in Kyiv: Death Toll Rises to 24

The death toll from the Russian attack on a residential building in Kyiv has risen to 24, as rescuers continue their search efforts.

Rescue operations in Kyiv have uncovered 8 more bodies following a Russian missile strike on a nine-story building, bringing the total number of casualties to 24.

According to the service: "In the Solomianskyi district, search operations continued throughout the night. As of 07:00, the bodies of 5 more victims have been retrieved from the partially destroyed building."

Less than an hour later, SES reported that the body of another victim (male) was retrieved from the rubble.

Spokesperson Svetlana Vodolaga commented to UP: "Currently, there are 22 fatalities. Of these, 17 are in the Solomianskyi district, 3 at a site in the Darnytskyi district, 1 deceased in an apartment in Darnytskyi, and 1 person who died in the hospital."

When asked how many more people are being searched for, Vodolaga replied: "We do not have such data. The city authorities reported that there are a number of individuals who are unaccounted for. We know that 35 apartments have been destroyed. The work is ongoing."

At 9:05, KMVA head Timur Tkachенко announced that rescuers had retrieved the body of a woman, raising the death toll in the Solomianskyi district to 18. In total, there are already 23 fatalities in the capital due to the Russian attack on the night of June 17.

At 10:30, SES reported that another body had been recovered from the rubble. The death toll from the Russian strike on Kyiv has risen to 24.
