In Memory of Mykhailo Klymchenko: A Great Artist Lost

Honoring the memory of the notable monumental artist Mykhailo Klymchenko, who tragically passed away at the front.

On June 15, the renowned monumental artist Mykhailo Klymchenko died at the front. He was 49 years old.

This tragic news was reported by the Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema, and Television named after I. K. Karpenko-Kary.

"We regret to announce the loss of another talented alumnus, Mykhailo Klymchenko, who graduated from our university in 1997 from the acting department", – the university stated.

Klymchenko was an active member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and a winner of the international glass art competition "VitrоProfi".

In the 1990s, he worked as an artist at the Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Theatre of Russian Drama. In recent years, he dedicated his life to creativity.

His works can be found in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, and Sumy regions. Among his notable creations are the mosaic "Archangel Michael" in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Putyvl, the triptych "Saint John the Baptist at the Jordan", and stained glass featuring saints in Kharkiv, as well as "The Savior Not Made by Hands" in the Holy Resurrection Church in Cherkasy region.
