Night Strike on Lebedyn Community: Impact on Ethanol Production

A night attack by Russian forces damaged an ethanol production facility in the Lebedyn community of Sumy. Environmental impacts are being assessed.

On the night of June 4, the Russian Federation targeted infrastructure in the Lebedyn community, resulting in significant damage to an ethanol production plant.

This was reported by the press service of the Sumy Regional State Administration.

Preliminary reports indicate 12 drone strikes. The drones hit the facility located in the village, causing a large fire.

"This was an ethanol production plant. Tanks were damaged, and there was a spillage of syrup. Fortunately, there were no casualties," the statement reads.

In addition to the facility, about 10 private homes were damaged.

Experts are currently evaluating the environmental consequences. The final extent of the destruction is still being confirmed.
