The Security Service of Ukraine's operation aimed at Russian aviation forces has received high praise from the North Atlantic Alliance.

A senior NATO official emphasized that, according to the Alliance, this was the "most successful operation".

He pointed out that these figures are based on the Alliance's calculations, rather than those of Ukraine, yet overall assessments align with Ukrainian perspectives.

"We see that at least 40 aircraft have been damaged. Between 10 and 13 aircraft have been completely destroyed", – he stated.

Among the damaged Russian aircraft, NATO identified 15 Tu-95 strategic bombers, 20 Tu-22 aircraft, and at least one A-50 radar plane, of which the Russian army possesses only a few.

According to NATO estimates, the attack destroyed 34% of Russia's missile carriers.

"This has a critical impact on Russian capabilities", – the official stressed.

These assessments do not take into account that some of the damaged and destroyed aircraft may have been used as "parts donors" and not engaged in combat missions, as the NATO official explained.

"We cannot confirm that all of them were fully operational… This does not eliminate Russia's ability to carry out airstrikes, but it certainly reduces their capacity to conduct missile strikes, including those that, as Ukrainians know, occur early in the morning", – he added, highlighting that this operation demonstrated Ukraine's ability to inflict damage on Russian military capabilities anywhere within Russia.
