As a result of the ongoing armed conflict, 630 children have died in Ukraine, and over 1960 have sustained various injuries.
This information is reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Nearly 2600 children have been affected by the war in Ukraine
“As of May 26, 2025, more than 2590 children have suffered due to the aggression of the Russian Federation. 630 have died and over 1960 have been injured,” the official statement notes.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, the highest number of affected children (including casualties and injuries) is reported in the following regions:
- Donetsk – 645
- Kharkiv – 492
- Kherson – 208
- Dnipropetrovsk – 242
- Kyiv – 146
- Zaporizhia – 181
- Mykolaiv – 119
- Sumy – 139
Additionally, tragic incidents reported from May 25 include:
- In the city of Korostyshiv, a 12-year-old girl and boys aged 8 and 17 were killed due to shelling. A 14-year-old boy was injured.
- A 14-year-old boy was injured in Kharkiv as a result of a strike.
- In Kyiv region, eight children were injured due to Russian strikes: girls aged 10, 13, 17 and boys aged 8, 10, 11, 13.
- On the same day, a 17-year-old boy was injured in Mykolaiv due to a strike.
