How scammers operate
Cardholders of PrivatBank are receiving calls from individuals claiming to be from the bank's «security service». They claim that several suspicious transactions have been made from the client’s card in the last 20 minutes to the aggressor country.
The scammers offer to cancel these transfers and even suggest insurance against fraud, pressuring individuals to act immediately by recording a voice message and «verifying» their card details.
To enhance their credibility, they provide a «personal number» that they claim can be found on PrivatBank's website.
In this way, scammers aim to capture clients' sensitive information for further illegal activities. Bank employees never ask for your card number, PIN, or CVV code.
Citizens are urged not to disclose personal information and avoid performing financial transactions during calls or messages from unknown sources.
If you receive a call from scammers, contact the bank's call center and report the incident. If you fall victim to fraud, reach out to the cyber police or other relevant authorities.
