A total of 370 new ammunition types have been codified for use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with 250 of them specifically designed for drones. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The project initially focused solely on drone ammunition but was later expanded to include all types of shells. The Register of Selection Participants and State Contract Executors has included 76 new companies that have achieved producer status for the first time. This has intensified competition in the market and expanded the product range. Additionally, the reduction of permitting processes to just a few days has accelerated the development and supply of ammunition.

"The most significant results are those we observe on the battlefield. The share of mortar and artillery rounds produced in Ukraine has increased by 50%", highlighted Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.

As part of an experiment, the Ministry of Defense initiated joint projects with 12 manufacturers of special chemicals in 2025 to begin the production of critical explosives.

Earlier, it was reported that the Ukrainian interceptor drone "Shakheds" known as Octopus has entered series production. According to Denys Shmyhal, the technology has been transferred to the first three manufacturers, while another eleven are preparing their production lines.

He also emphasized that the technology was developed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and proven in combat. These drones operate at night, under jamming conditions, and at low altitudes.
