The Ukrainian company L7 Simulators has unveiled a new training simulator named "Guardian". This was announced through the company’s social media platforms.
The training complex enables users to practice detection and interception of hostile drones in conditions that closely resemble real-life scenarios. It provides a realistic flight simulation without risking actual equipment. The simulator can be quickly deployed, and its interface closely resembles standard ground control stations for drone interceptors.
"Guardian" teaches users how to operate in a combat environment, enhancing their reaction times and skills for tracking and engaging targets in conditions similar to actual combat usage.
The simulator features realistic target behaviors and trajectory construction. It also supports simulations of multicopters and fixed-wing drones. The system includes two working positions: Navigator (gunner/tactician) and Pilot (operator), allowing for interaction practice between them in a realistic simulation.
"This training complex allows for full-scale aerial engagements between the drone interceptor crew and enemy drones, where the Navigator detects a target, tracks it, communicates coordinates, or directs weaponry, while the Pilot maneuvers the drone in the air, performs maneuvers, and maintains combat contact with the target," the description of the system states.
The introduction of such a complex is significant, as Ukraine is actively advancing drone interceptor technologies and manufacturing them. Among the notable innovations is the "General Chereshnya Bullet" drone, capable of downing "Shahed" drones, which can reach speeds of over 309 km/h and is already being prepared for mass production.
Another interceptor worth mentioning is the Sting from the "Wild Hornets", which recently reached speeds exceeding 315 km/h. This drone model has already downed over 900 targets in just a few months.
L7 Simulators also has other simulators. Previously, they developed a simulator for the MK 19 grenade launcher, which allows for high-quality operator training in a safe virtual environment with complete combat simulation.
Another solution from L7 Simulators is a virtual trainer for shooting FPV drones with a shotgun. During training, soldiers hold a realistic shotgun and shoot at virtual FPV drones, which they see through goggles and hear through headphones.
