Meta has prematurely revealed two models of smart glasses in a now-removed video. According to UploadVR, the clip was published on the Ray-Ban channel. These devices are expected to be among the key announcements at this week's Meta Connect conference. The video disclosed that the Ray-Ban Display glasses will feature a screen embedded in the right lens. Various usage scenarios were demonstrated, including displaying maps for navigation, real-time translation, accessing Meta AI, and composing messages. Control will be facilitated by a bracelet equipped with sEMG (surface electromyography) technology, which reads electrical signals from the user's hand muscles, enabling them to "write" in the air or execute commands through gestures. The second model, Oakley Sphaera, boasts a sleek design with a camera positioned at the bridge of the nose and is likely intended for capturing user-perspective video and photos. Meta is actively exploring new devices following the launch of Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses in 2023, which allowed users to take photos, videos, and utilize a voice assistant. The company now aims to integrate displays and enhance interactions with Meta AI to create more versatile glasses. The official unveiling of these new devices is anticipated at the Meta Connect conference on September 17, 2025, hosted by CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
