Microsoft has announced that Windows Insider participants using the Beta Channel will soon see a new tab in the system settings, allowing them to easily configure the Quick Machine Recovery (QMR) feature.

A new page titled “Recovery” will be added to the “System” menu, providing access to crucial options for tackling Windows boot issues. Users will be able to check if QMR is enabled, how often the system checks it, and set up automatic reboots to apply fixes.

"Quick recovery is designed to help your device recover from common boot issues using remedies provided directly by Microsoft," the company noted in its blog.

The QMR feature was introduced in November 2024 to allow administrators to remotely restore Windows devices when encountering critical errors. QMR will automatically search for fixes in the cloud and recover from common failures.

This feature is built on Startup Repair and utilizes a secure Windows recovery environment with network access to find solutions via Windows Update.
