UNITED24, in collaboration with Microsoft and the Ministry of Digital Transformation, has unveiled a new documentary initiative with immersive effects — «Arina's Dreams». The primary goal is to unite the global community for the restoration of Ukraine.
The main character of the project is eight-year-old dancer Arina from Irpin. Her hometown and dreams were shattered by Russian attacks. The girl had to flee her home with her mother and later return to her devastated community. The story of this young dancer reflects the fate of thousands of Ukrainian children. To showcase the war through the eyes of young Ukrainians, the project combines documentary footage, art, virtual reality, and gaming elements.
«With the support of Microsoft, this project allows us to present to the world the truth about the scale of destruction that Ukraine has suffered due to Russian aggression. Such initiatives elevate fundraising to a new level — making it more effective and technological, while also redirecting attention to Ukraine,» — noted Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation and Digital Transformation.
Thanks to innovative technologies, viewers are immersed in a virtual space, where they will be transported to the ruined cultural house in Irpin. There, Arina shares her dream of dancing on a big stage. Users will enter the metaverse — a reconstruction of the Irpin cultural house — and explore Ukraine's rich cultural heritage: «Shchedryk», traditions of Malanka, as well as the work of contemporary artist Masha Reva, who illustrated a clip for Harry Styles.
To implement such a complex technological project, Microsoft provided expert support and resources from its Azure cloud platform.

This project showcases a new approach to fundraising for the reconstruction of Ukraine. It also speaks to the realization of dreams and faith in the future of Ukrainian children. To help children receive quality education and achieve great accomplishments in life, UNITED24 has launched the «Education and Science» initiative.
