Xiaomi plans to invest at least 50 billion yuan (approximately $7 billion) in chip development over the next decade starting in 2025. This information was reported by Reuters after a discussion with a Xiaomi representative.
Founder Lei Jun announced that the company has already spent 13.5 billion yuan on the development of the mobile processor XringO1. More than 2500 specialists are working on the project.
The new investments aim to enhance Xiaomi's position in the mobile processor market and strengthen its control over key technologies amid increasing competition in the smartphone and electric vehicle sectors.
