Oleksandra Oliynikova (109) has become the champion of the WTA 125 tournament held in Collina, Chile. In the final match, she defeated French player Leolia Jeanjean (106).
The match lasted 1 hour and 52 minutes and ended with a score of 7:5, 6:1.
The start of the match was challenging for Oliynikova, as she struggled to adapt to the strong winds and her opponent's playing style. She failed to secure her first three serves.
However, after trailing 1:4, the situation shifted. Oliynikova began to play more confidently, keeping the ball in play and finding opportunities to attack during rallies. Jeanjean was unable to counter effectively, displaying more frustration than tennis skills.
Out of the next 14 games, Oliynikova won 12, achieving a quality victory – 7:5, 6:1.
Throughout the match, she served one ace, avoided double faults, and made 6 breaks. Her opponent did not score any aces, made two errors on serve, and had 3 breaks.
This was the second meeting between the two this year, with the Ukrainian claiming her first win.
Overall, this marks Oliynikova's tenth consecutive victory, having triumphed two weeks earlier at a similar tournament in Tucumán, Argentina. This is her third WTA 125 title of the current season at just 24 years old.
Due to these successes, on November 24, she will rise into the WTA top-100 for the first time, securing the 95th position and effectively guaranteeing her a place in the main draw of the Australian Open 2026.
It's worth noting that in the first round of the tournament in Collina, Oliynikova easily defeated Elizabeth Mandlik (185, USA), and in the second round, she dismantled Sada Nahimana (238, Burundi). In the quarterfinals, she overcame experienced Slovenian Polona Hercog (884), and in the semifinals, she triumphed over Czech Laura Samson (265).
