After a lengthy ban, this season the yacht club has reopened for races on the Dnipro River.
On October 18, the Kyiv City Cruiser Yacht Club held the final races of the 2.4mR class for the 2025 season. Defenders and defenders participated, who have been undergoing sailing training at the club since the beginning of the year.
The 2.4mR class comprises specially adapted boats that allow individuals with physical disabilities to compete on equal footing.
“These races were special — it was the first time the trainees sailed in open water. After the ban due to the war, the yacht club received permission to hold races, allowing participants to feel the true freedom of the river again. The new conditions not only didn’t intimidate the trainees but added excitement and confidence,” reported a representative from the club.
Maxim Artemonenko won the race, with Artem Dudchenko in second place and Olesya Kotlyarova in third.
The practical part of the course will continue until the end of October.
