On October 17, fencing competitions in sabre kicked off in the capital as part of the Ukrainian Cup-2025. The first day brought an impressive victory for a Kyiv athlete!
Nikita Koshman — a graduate of the Kyiv City School of Higher Sports Mastery — secured his first gold medal at the Ukrainian Cup!
Following two consecutive silver medals and a bronze at the World Championship in July, the athlete has started the new season brilliantly — third event and third podium finish!
On his way to victory, Nikita defeated the reigning European champion Roman Svychkar, confidently won against Ruslan Tymoshenko and Mykhailo Podolskyi, and in the final, overcame Kyiv's Yevhen Makienko with a score of 15:10.
Bronze medals were claimed by Yevhenii Horbachev (Kharkiv) and Maxim Hula (Lviv) — the youngest medalist of this year's Cup among sabre fencers.
Winners and their coaches received awards, gifts, and flowers from partners and sponsors of the Ukrainian Cup-2025.
