On October 18th, a run will be held in Kyiv to support military personnel who remain in captivity.
The event is organized by the Association of Families of Defenders of «Azovstal» together with the freed fighter of «Azov», known as «Rasti».
The exact number of defenders held in Russian captivity is unknown, with some being imprisoned for four years.
From May 16 to 20, under orders from the highest leadership, including President Volodymyr Zelensky, the defenders of Mariupol left the «Azovstal» plant to preserve their lives.
According to preliminary agreements, the fighters were supposed to stay on the territory controlled by Russians for four months. However, the enemy violated all possible negotiations and continues to hold the defenders captive, often without providing any special conditions.
Additionally, there have been documented cases of torture and illegal trials against Ukrainians.
“This run is not just a sporting event. It is an act of memory, support, and gratitude. It is a reminder to the world that our soldiers are still waiting to return home. This is our collective voice for freedom for those who deserve it,” emphasize the event organizers.
