Ukrainian cyclist Maria Sukhopalova has claimed victory at the World Cup stage of mountain biking held in São Paulo, Brazil.

In the «eliminator» discipline, Maria led during the qualifying round, continued her dominance in the semifinals, and finished first in the final, surpassing German competitor Marion Fromberg. The bronze medal went to Brazil's Marcela Lima.

Maria Sukhopalova is the reigning world champion in the «eliminator» and finished in second place at the previous World Cup stage in Turkey, losing to Fromberg.

After five stages of the World Cup, the Ukrainian cyclist is currently in second place overall.
