The Prince George Cougars hockey club from Canada has announced the signing of Ukrainian goalie Alexander Levshin.

This information was shared by the team's press service, which participates in the Western Hockey League.

Details regarding the collaboration with the 19-year-old Ukrainian national team goalie have not yet been disclosed.

"It is an incredible honor for me to be chosen to play in the prestigious WHL league, and it is especially important to join a club with such a rich history and dedicated fans," commented Levshin on his transfer.

Last season, the native of Kharkiv played for the Toronto Patriots in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), averaging only 2.43 goals allowed per game with a save percentage of 93.5%.

Levshin was also recognized as the best goalie at the World Junior Championship in Division 1B, and in the spring of 2025, he made his debut for the Ukrainian national team.

In June, he received an invitation to Vancouver's development camp.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian junior national team defenseman Mykola Kosarev signed a contract with WHL's Victoria Royals.
