WBC, WBO, WBA, and IBO heavyweight champion Alexander Usyk has shared his thoughts on who he considers the best boxer in the world.
According to The Ring, Usyk believes that Terence Crawford deserves the title. The 37-year-old American was the undisputed world champion in the welterweight division in 2023, holding the WBO, WBC, WBA-Super, and IBF titles throughout his career.
In 2023-2024, Crawford was named the best boxer in the world by The Ring, regardless of weight class.
On September 13, Crawford will face Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in Las Vegas, with the fight being streamed live on Netflix. A special The Ring belt will also be on the line.
As for Usyk, he is set to meet Daniel Dubois at Wembley on July 19. Their first encounter took place on August 26, 2023, in Wroclaw, where Usyk won by technical knockout in the 9th round.
Crawford previously mentioned one of the Ukrainian boxers as being among those he considers "elite".
