WTA Rankings Update: Svitolina Climbs Higher

On Monday, June 9, the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) released its updated rankings.

Ukraine's top player Elina Svitolina moved up to 13th place following her quarterfinal appearance at Roland Garros. Leading the rankings is Belarusian Arina Sabalenka, the finalist of the French Open, with American Coco Gauff in second place after winning the tournament.

Chinese player Zheng Qinwen climbed to her career-best fifth position from seventh after reaching the quarterfinals. In contrast, Poland's Iga Swiatek dropped positions after failing to defend her title from last year.

In the top ten, Spanish player Paula Badosa and American Emma Navarro swapped places.

French player Lois Boisson, a surprising semifinalist at Roland Garros, soared from 361st to 65th position.

Ukraine's second-ranked player Marta Kostyuk fell one spot to 26th after her first-round exit at the French Open.

Diana Yastremska improved her standing by moving up three spots to 45th.

Julia Starodubtseva made significant progress, rising 14 places to 67th after her debut in the third round of a major.

Angelina Kalinina returned to the top 100, currently at 96th. Daria Snigur remained at 151st place.

Alexander Oliynykova reached her highest career ranking at 202nd. Anastasia Soboleva also improved her position to 244th after qualifying for Roland Garros.
